Session 2:

The ACE Study (Adverse Childhood Experiences) is one of the largest scientific research studies on the relationship between childhood trauma and the risk for health problems in adulthood. In the twenty years since the original study, it has become clear that early traumatic stresses create significant risks for later physical, social, emotional, and cognitive impairments. Young brains are especially vulnerable to stress, which creates lifelong impacts on the brain and body.

You can learn more about the ACE study from the CDC.
